Fall is traditionally a time for subdued colors, but this year, designers are emphasizing elegant and vibrant hues. Rich tones of blues, greens and purples are being featured, as are warm reds, oranges and yellows. Interestingly, the names assigned to the colors of this season’s palate quickly identify you as a true “fashionista” when you lovingly describe the color of your favorite fall purchase. Dazzle your friends with a name or two of this season top ten colors:

T• Blue Iris: blue with purple undertones
• Royal Lilac: purple with red undertones
• Shady Glade: natural green without the usual yellow undertones
• Caribbean Sea: sea-shade of blue
• Aurora Red: true red
• Shitake: brown which can be used as a neutral with Fall's more intense colors
• Withered Rose: pink with brown undertones
• Twilight Blue: a touch lighter than traditional navy
• Burnt Orange: intense shade of orange
• Ochre: yellow with a hint of mustard

Fall also brings on another round of “must haves” that help to perk up any wardrobe or bring creativity to a beloved classic suit. While menswear-inspired looks are big this season, Banana Republic is pairing a tie-neck blouse with jackets, skirts and trousers. This “beacon of femininity” lends elegance amid the structured shapes.

Cooler weather also brings on the second most dreaded season in a woman’s life…Jean season! Well, Von Maur presents “Not Your Daughters Jeans” a denim jean made for real women with real curves. With a must have for the season of wide-legged pants, you will want to try the “Not Your Daughters Jean” Tuxedo Jean. Praised by celebrities and real women galore, this is the most innovative product to hit fashion and beauty industries since control top pantyhose. They slim the often problematic lower abdomen, contour the hips and lift the butt without the feeling of being stuffed in binding, tight and uncomfortable material. For a great pair of just everyday jeans, it’s the “Wendy” Bootcut Trouser, incredibly soft and will feel more like your favorite pair of sweatpants than your most flattering pants.

Patterns including plaids and tweeds have been seen all over the runways. Choose a great Ochre colored jacket in a relaxed cut from Ann Taylor LOFT paired with a patent leather, top-handle bag of Aurora Red from Coach then, complete the look with boots by ecco...Fall Perfection!
Do not overlook the dress! Make your selection a bold floral pattern for your new dress. Saks Fifth Avenue shows that the Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress will always be a staple of a well furnished closet while bebe puts a bit of “sass” into the little black dress…paired with a tweed jacket or sweater can roll right from day into night.
One of the biggest looks in materials this year is the gradient-shaded fabric: a tie-dyed effect in which the hue goes from light to dark in the garment. It works well in this season’s resurgence of the scarf. Choose to accentuate the bohemian side of you with a great scarf from Hollister or wrap the more sophisticated version of yourself in a “pashmina” from Jule. If you only get one “must have” this season, the scarf will be, “the best thing” you had to have.
