Fur, Fins & Feathers
Through June 5, 2011
Our featured exhibition during Summer Fun is Fur, Fins & Feathers, a family-friendly exhibition about animals in art that showcases works from CMA’s collection. This diverse exhibition includes a variety of media and styles, including Inuit stone carvings, contemporary photography, and American folk-art prints.
Fur, Fins & Feathers includes many works that visitors may not have seen before. Because the Museum is currently under renovation, we can highlight works from our collection that normally are not on view.
Special programming for the exhibition features hands-on activities, tours, and a weekly collaborative program called Community Capers. Community Capers includes visits from organizations such as the Ohio Wildlife Center, the Turtle Lady, and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium that provide visitors with opportunities for hands-on interactions with animals and each other.
You have a unique opportunity to help us make Fur, Fins & Feathers an interactive experience. An area of the exhibition will focus on People and their Pets. Do you have a pet that is special to you? Tell us about it. Take a photograph of your pet with yourself.
E-mail your JPEG photograph, along with why your pet is special to you, to education@cmaohio.org. You photograph may be highlighted in People and their Pets.
