The most visited exhibition in COSI’s history sets sail again for a magnificent second voyage featuring nearly 100 new artifacts – 23 making their world debut at COSI. Explore stunning room recreations, see hundreds of authentic treasures, and interact with costumed characters from that fateful night.
Visitors are quickly drawn back in time to 1912, as each receives a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger upon entrance. Visitors are then immersed in the Exhibition as they take a chronological journey through the Titanic; from the ship’s construction to life on board, the ill fated sinking, and amazing artifact rescue efforts. They will marvel at authentically re-created rooms, press their palms against an iceberg, and learn of the passengers countless stories of heroism and humanity.
Highlights of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition include:
- Re-creations of both first- and third-class accommodations
- Personal items including a gentleman’s top hat, china etched with the logo of the elite White Star Line, and more
- A collection of perfume vials, recovered during a dive in 2000, that belonged to a first-class passenger
- A simulated iceberg that will give visitors a sense of the environmental conditions at play on the night of
the Titanic disaster and test their capacity to withstand touching a frozen surface
- A gallery devoted to Ohio connections to the Titanic tragedy
Titanic Audio Tours
Audio tours are a great way to enhance your Titanic experience. You'll learn about Titanic in every phase of her short journey: from construction, to life aboard the ship through the words of real Titanic passengers and crew members, to insight into subsequent artifact recovery efforts. Exhibit cases, photographs and rooms are assigned a number and have corresponding audio narratives that can be accessed at random. Interactive by design, the personal audio guide allows you to customize your Titanic experience according to your interest and the pace of your movement through the exhibition.
A Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition audio guide is available for $5. There are two different tours available—an adult and a children's version—both of which can be accessed from each headset. Audio tour rental is available online, at the Box Office or at the entrance to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.
